I had my sata RAID setup for some time now, and for some reason had to do a fresh install of windows 10, of which would crash every time I tried re-installing the gigabyte RAID drivers. I know I'm resurrecting a very old post, but I just ran into this problem or a very similar one, and this post kinda helped me, so I thought I'd add what I had incase any other folks stumble upon this looking for help. I'm tearing my hair out and seriously considering just cancelling the whole idea. Resetting bios to defaults or making changes can also damage the array? I'm wondering if this is even a good idea anymore.Ī bit off-topic, but can you transition from RAID1 to a "classic" setup later by simply removing the disc you don't want? Can it go vice-versa? Something tells me no, given the whole "array creation" process in BIOS. The more I read about RAID after deep diving these issues, I keep seeing things like "you can never flash bios again or your RAID array will be permanately lost", which seems stupid. So I enable it and Windows boots, but I don't know if that's causing problems with RAIDĬan I even have a RAID array (1) and a separate non-raid SATA device running? Instructions call for "CSM disabled" in BIOS - when I do that, Windows does not boot at all. I can no longer see my previous 4TB drive anywhere and it's not in disc manager I have 2 "RAID Controllers" listed in Device Manager as 'other devices unknown' - can't update drivers no matter what I try Managed to install "RaidXpert2" software (I think) althougth it complains that drivers aren't installed when I start it Install RAID drivers from gigabyte's website - doesn't seem to work well it's nothing but problems and no answers after this:

When I get into Windows, there's nothing there, no drives at all except my Windows install SSD (M.2). Initialized the 2 drives I'm using, created array, seemed to go fine. Followed the provided gigabyte guides and some youtube tutorials. So far I think I managed to set up the RAID 1 array in BIOS correctly.
